This is very simple; all you need is Mozilla Firefox and an extension for Firefox. There are many plugins and tools out there to do this, but I like these, because I do not need to run any extra application.

I should also mention that there are number of Firefox extensions to do this. For the first example, I am using Fast Video Download (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3590).

You can either go to Tools > Add-ons and in the new window opened, click on get extensions. Then, by searching for Fast Video Download, or just click the link that I have provided and click on “Install Now” button at the bottom of the page and then click “Install Now” button on the popup window as shown in the figure below.

Then Firefox installs the extension and you have to restart Firefox, to use the plugin that you just installed. Then there will be a small icon like this. Now we are ready to go. Go to page that has the video and just click on it and it will popup a window to save the file. This file is flash video file and has an extension of “.flv”. Now you need to have a special player to play these types of files.

If you get the appropriate codecs, you can play them on many players. Windows medal player, Zoom player 5, Media player classic and VLC media player plays flv file, if you got the codec. I am using K-lite codec pack and it has codecs of flv format and comes with many other codecs. K-Lite codec pack is free and you can download it from http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm.

With “GetVideo” add-on for Firefox and “Free Download Manager”, you can download many videos at a time using multi-threaded downloading provided by free download manager. You can use your favorite download manager with this add-on, however if should support Firefox. Otherwise, it will not catch the file grabbed by the add-on.
